I don't have a picture for you since I haven't been doing much. I still haven't found a way to take a picture of the blanket. I have done some charity knitting so I'll try and get a picture of that. I am having some fun with nail art but I'm having a little trouble with some polish going bad. I need to get some nail polish thinner to fix it. I guess I don't have anything interesting to say. I'll try and think of something interesting to say next time. I'll see you then.

This was my most recent charity knitting. I tried to make one more hat but got about halfway done and ran out of yarn. I have to pull it out and make some mitts. I haven't really done any other crafting. I joined the nail polish group on Ravelry. The kids have a long weekend for Easter. Other than that I can't think of anything interesting. This is a horridly short post. Sorry. I'll see you next time.

I finished the Hitchhiker but it's not easy to take a picture of. I ran out of the sari silk on the bind off, so I used a little but of some hand spun from a long time ago. It's black but it's only about eight inches so it's not too noticeable. I'm going to try and enter the Hitchhiker in Nerd Wars and Nerdopolis. I'm still not sure how to take a picture of the blanket but I have an idea I'll try. Other than that I'm working on charity knitting.
I tried some nail art and I think it turned out o.k. but not great. Making flowers is harder than it looks. I've also been stalking a Ravelry group that is dedicated to nail polish so I'll probably join that group. I'll leave the picture at the end for you. I think that's it. I'll try and post again soon.

Here are the latest of the charity knitting. It's not exciting I know. I did finally get the sari silk. For some reason USPS took over a week to get the packaged from Arkansas to Illinois. Once my package hit Illinois I got it fast but it really shouldn't have taken a week before that, it's about a twelve hour drive. I did get the blanket finished but I don't know how to photograph it. I have some left over so I'm making a scarf for my daughter since she loves the yarn. I'm making the Hitchiker on huge needles. I had nine teeth at last count. I also finished the heel of one of daughter's socks in a waiting room. I'm making progress but I don't really have any pictures to show.
We are planning to go to a hockey game tonight but other than that there isn't anything interesting happening here. I'm going to do my nails soon maybe it will be nice enough to show you. My daughter is doing her nails in the team colors. I think that's it, I'll see you next time.

I haven't meant to be neglectful I just didn't really have anything to say. I'm feeling much better but now my daughter has a cold. I feel bad for her but at least its spring break and she's not missing any school. I've just been working on the sewing. This one is the fifth of the twelve I have. I was trying to think about how I would attach them when I was done and I was reminded of the quilting fabric that comes in long strips (one of the name brands is Jelly Roll). I think this would give me and easy way to do it without lots if cutting, it would also give me an excuse to visit a local quilt shop. I found my missing needle so I'm back to working on charity knitting. I have a bunch of weeks to catch up on so that's next on the list.
Speaking of visiting places I visited a new yarn shop in the area. It's called The Naked Sheep Yarn Barn. It's kind of an intermediate step between big box stores and the indi yarns. The other yarn store in the area seems to cater to a little higher end yarn so between them both we have every style covered. I think I may go there and sit and knit on Fridays after the kids go back to school. One of the owners I've actually met before. For a little while I was a member of a spinning and weaving guild (then my husband's schedule changed and I couldn't go there anymore) and she is a member there. It could be interesting with this new store, we'll see how it goes.
Amey and I are still doing nail art but noting has come out nicely enough for me to want to show you. I'm getting better at dot flowers. It was harder that it looks in all the videos. I'm still having the peeling problem but I just paint it over and over. I give each design about five days then give my nails a day to rest naked before I do something new. That's it that has been going on around here. If I can get some projects done I'll show you, until then it might be a little slow, See you next time.

I know I haven't written in a while. I haven't really been doing anything. I haven't been knitting or crocheting I have been sort of sewing. One of my neighbor ladies bought over a bunch of printed cross stitch designs. She said that her hands couldn't do it anymore so she gave them to us. There was $100-200 dollars worth of quilt blocks, pillow cases, samplers and seasonal pictures (if she paid full price for them but I don't think she did). I've been having fun working on the quilt blocks. I don't know when I'll ever make it into a quilt but we'll see. I have the yarn coming to finish the sari silk blanket so hopefully that will be done soon. Somehow I lost my daughter's socks so I need to find those so I can finish them. Other than that I really haven't been doing much. I'm watching tons of old episodes of Law and Order SVU but that's it. I don't think I lost my knitting dive it's just that what excites me more is the planning and the stating and I am trying to hold that back to get some things finished. Maybe taking a beak and doing this cross stitch will help me enjoy knitting and crochet when I get back to it. That's all for today. I know it's a sad post for being gone for so long but that's all I've got. See you next time.

Sorry I have no picture because I haven't really done anything. I'm still sick and that takes a lot of my motivation away. After the chores I feel like I have no energy at all. If I'm not better by Monday I'm going to the doctor. By then it will be two weeks (one of sinus headaches and one of draining) and that is too long. The other thing that took my energy was that I had my daughter try on the socks and she said they were to small. I had to rip out the heels to fix it and that was kind of demoralizing. I know it's first world problems but I'm still really tired.
I caught up on most podcasts. I only have Knitting Butterflies and A Night Bird. After all that I'll go back to catching up on all the k-dramas I'm behind on. I'll start with Healer since it's over now. Until I get better I think that's it, What a pathetic post. Hopefully I'll be better soon.

I'm still sick but I think it may not be as bad as it was before. It's just a nasty head cold but they always seem to linger. These are the socks I'm making for my daughter out of the left over yarn. I'm sure I'll have enough but just to be on the safe side I'm going from the outside and inside of the ball. I've made more progress than this and have actually turned the heel on one sock. I'm probably only going to be working on this for a while since going round and round is about all my sick brain can handle. At lest I feel like crafting. last week I didn't.
I caught up on In a Sknit and will probably be caught up with A Homespun House today. I'm catching up on my podcasts but falling farther behind on my k-drama. I'll get caught up eventually. I think looking at everyone's projects is part of why I want to craft again. The down side is I want to order more yarn but I guess that's normal.
My daughter and I are still having fun with the nail art but we (mostly me) are having trouble with it staying on. It seems to peel and chip easily. Some of that could be the quality of the polish (it's all drug store brands) but it still seems a bit excessive. I guess it just gives us an excuse to try something new. I'll let you know if we do something else that works. See you next time.

I have not been feeling myself this week. Between getting a crick in my neck, sinus headaches, and running around like crazy I haven't been really crafting at all. It still aches a little just to type. It may be time for more decongestant. Hopefully this week I'll feel better and can get back on my regular schedule. This may not be a long post since it's making me tired.
This picture at the top is the finished fingerless mitts modeled by my daughter. They look loose and bulky on her but they fit me well and do the job I wanted. I really haven't done much of anything else but I did contact someone about more yarn for the sari silk blanket. I caught up on The Fat Squirrel Speaks and Joeli's Kitchen. I'm so behind on everything. My daughter and I have still been doing some nail art but not everything comes out well. The picture at the end is my attempt to copy a design by Sarabeautycorner on YouTube. The white cat turned out well but the black cat did not.
I think that's it. I don't feel the best so I think that is messing with my brain. I'll try to writ again soon.
Friday, February 20, 2015
Here is the first fingerless mitt. I finished the pair but I haven't taken a picture yet. I wove in the ends and have them waiting for a soak with a bunch of other hand knits. Since I got my U.S. size 2 back I put that in the red and black striped socks and got the size 1 out. I don't really like the colors of this yarn so even though there is a lot left I added it to the blanket square. Since I have two size 1 needles I started on some socks for my daughter, with the pink yarn from her fingerless mitts) from the inside and the outside of the yarn cake. Not like I need another project. The other thing I may cast on soon are some knit boobs. One of the girls in my K-drama group recently had a double mastectomy and said that knit ones would be good so I think a few of us are planning to knit her some. I want to wait and find out what yarn she wants to use first since that is a very sensative area. I'll let you know how it goes if I make them.
I caught up on Knit One Heart Too and Knitting in Circles, I'm working on The Fat Squirrel Speaks, I'm not doing to much else in the way of watching or listening. I have been watching some nail art videos and have some good ideas but that's about it. I tried something on my daughter's nails and it turned out o.k. Drawing with nail polish was harder than I thought it would be but attaching the jewels was way easier. If any designs turn out well I'll show them to you.
I think that's it, not much going on in my life right now. I don't think that a bad thing. Oh I remember now I was (am) upset that I misplaced a crochet magazine. I don't use them much anymore but I was saving it for the article and I can't find it. I was going to show it to a teacher but now I'll have to just explain it. Oh well that is a first world problem so I guess my life isn't that bad. See you next time.

Here is the totoro so far, he's a big boy. I haven't made any more progress on him. I have more yarn but I think I'll take a break foe a while. Even though I have projects to do I kind of started another one. A while ago I made a shawl with some recycled sari silk. It got a hole in it from one of the knots coming undone. I ripped it out and made a big granny square blanket out of it. It's not actually finished because I ran out of yarn. I need a little more for the border so I'll order that soon. It only took me bout three days or so. I'm going to be going back to the fingerless mitts, maybe I can finish them soon. Fingerless mitts, totoro and a hat, that's the plan. We'll see how it goes.
I haven't been doing much with k-drama or podcasts, I have been watching some U.S. TV since my husband has been home. I'm getting back to my podcasts but I'm way behind on all of them and my k-dramas. I'll let you know know if I run into anything interesting.
At the end I'll put a picture of my daughter's nails that we did before valentine's Day. We used the water marbling method. It wan't hard to do but it was kind om messy. We have been looking at lots of nail art and have some interesting ideas. I'll put up some pictures if any of our ideas turn out well. I think that's it. I know I've been skipping days, I'll try and do it more regularly. See you next time.
Thursday, February 12, 2015
Ok here is the finished hat. I really need to get a picture of my husband actually wearing it. I really think it needs something on the end but my husband doesn't want it. My daughter tried to steal it already. The pattern is free on Ravelry. I finished one fingerless mitt and I started the next one. I got the totoro body finished as well. The totoro ate yarn like crazy and is really heavy. I stuffed it with old yarn some of it was older than my daughter. It has inspired me to clean out my yarn especially the old acrylic. Right now the yarn is a big mess but I'll get it taken care of. The next projects are a new hat for my niece, a new little fox that is better, and then I'll see about digging out my socks so I can finish them.
On Monday my husband was home so I watched some U.S. TV with him. Other than that I have finished Knitting Pipeline and am working on Dramatic Knits. I should be able to finish that up today and be able to move on to Knit 1 Heart Too. I'm so behind on my K-drama as well but it just means I won't be bored for a while.
It's probably been around a while but my daughter and I have been watching videos about how to do a marble effect on your nails and we want to try it. If it turns out well I'll show you. We are excited to try it and are getting some supplies tonight. It should be a fun adventure. I think that's it, I'll talk to you next time.
Monday, February 9, 2015
O.k. so the hat isn't finished in this picture but I haven't had a chance to take a new picture. The hat is in the laundry right now so hopefully I can get a picture of it tomorrow. I lost my U.S. size 7 so I can't do my charity knitting till I find it. I almost have one of the fingerless mitts done and I am almost done with the body of the totoro. Until I find the size 7 I'll bounce back and forth between the mitts and the totoro till one is done. I'm stuffing the totoro with weird old acrylic that I have. It takes a ton and is really heavy compared to most stuffed animals. I feel like I'm getting my knitting/crochet energy back. Hopefully I'll have some fun pictures for you next time.
I did listen to some podcasts. I got caught up on Wolfe Farms and Highland Handmades. I don't think there was anything too terribly interesting, just that I would love to buy tons of things from either of them. Today I'll work on Knitting Pipeline, I have a ton of those. Since I'm so far behind I'm going to be listening to podcasts for a while.
Well I think that's it. I don't lead and exciting life. I'm hoping it's a slow week so I can get lots of cleaning done. Maybe I'll have something interesting to say next time. I'll see you then,
Saturday, February 7, 2015
This is the little hat I made for my last charity knit. I still have tons of these colors left so I'll make some mitts to go with it. I started the fingerless mitts for me, I'm in the boring round and round part. I think it will work well with my coat and not leave a gap. It's not my favorite color but it's what I had on hand. I worked on the totoro as well. It ate up yarn like crazy, I'll get some more eventually. I'm to the decreases now so the body is almost done. The plan is, if I don't get more yarn for the totoro, I'll work on the hat and I want to make another little fox since I don't like the one I made. I think I have more plans than I can ever finish.
The sleep study was interesting. It was weird but not too uncomfortable. The most uncomfortable part was the thing that goes up your nose. They said I should get the results in ten days. The weirdest part was that you can't do anything yourself. I'm not used to asking for help getting covers or turning up the heat or turning off the lights. I hope I gave them the information they need. At least they didn't have to come running in, in the middle of the night and put a mask on me. I'll keep you updated.
I think that's it. I don't think there is anything interesting happening around here. My husband has a little cold but there isn't really anything I can do about that. I'm kind of boring but that's o.k. I'll see you next time.
Thursday, February 5, 2015
These are the heart bookmarks, they are really bright. The pattern is Heart Tales Bookmark and it's free on Ravelry. They look like a pile of random yarn but I don't have a better picture. I mostly finished my husband's hat. All the ends are woven in and it's in the laundry. I don't think he wants a pom-pom on it but I think it looks weird without anything on the end. I'm going to start on the fingerless gloves so that I can have something mindless to work on in waiting rooms. Tomorrow I might drag out the totro, I just want to get something easy started first. After that I think I'll make another hat for my niece. The pink one I made for her fit for a little bit but she grew and it doesn't fit right anymore so I'll make her a bigger size. So many plans.
I finally got caught up on After School Club. It's kind of fun to see interviews with the kpop groups and the show makes me laugh. I watched a couple episodes of Healer as well. I still really enjoy it and I'm sad it will be over soon. Now I'm terribly behind on my podcasts. I think I have six episodes of Wolfe Farms alone. I'll be listening to them for a while.
The interesting thing that is happening today is that I have a sleep study tonight. It will be weird to sleep somewhere else. The kids have the day off tomorrow that's why I scheduled it for tonight. I didn't want to have to hurry back to get them to school. Maybe they will sleep in tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. I'll see you next time.

It snowed a lot this weekend and it's still snowing on and off. The snow was so deep it was up to my knees in spots. I know I'm not terribly tall but that's still a lot of snow. This isn't unusual weather for this time of year but it was so nice for a while that we were spoiled. Since the snow fell so fast the kids go Monday off school.
I finished the bookmarks and am back to the hat. I feel like I'm finally making some progress. I am planning on working on the totoro next then the fingerless gloves. By the time I get to that it will probably be warm. I'll probably work on them at the same time because the totoro isn't really portable. I also did some charity knitting.
I finally got around to finishing Pinocchio. It's about boy who's family is destroyed by false news reports and ends up an orphan. He ends up living on an island with an old man, his son and granddaughter. Through an odd set of circumstances he ends up being an uncle to the girl even though they are the same age. The boy and girl grow up together and of course he falls in love with her. The girl has a condition where if she lies she hiccups. There is romance, adventure and revenge as various people's lives intertwine. It's really sweet and cute. It explores some of the same themes as I Hear Your Voice but is not a retelling of the same story. There was definitely more adventure in I Hear Your Voice (the bad guy was scarier) but I liked the couple better in Pinocchio. I would recommend it, it was really sad to see it end. I don't feel like that was a good review but I don't want to explain to much and give things away.
I think that's it. I feel like there was something else since I skipped so many days but I can't think of anything. I hope you stay safe and warm.
Thursday, January 29, 2015
This is the first donation baby hat of the year. It feels like it took longer than is should have. The internet has been working well so far so maybe I can get back on a better schedule. Mostly I've been working on the heart bookmarks but they are a little boring. I need to count how many I have so I can feel like I'm making progress. I have fifteen at last count but I'm not sure I made more since then. I think there are 21 kids in my sons class so I think I'll make 25 so he can give one to the teacher or other helpers that he wants to. As soon as I get done with the bookmarks I'll finish my husband's hat. Seeing it in the picture made me feel like there was progress, it gets a little boring just going round and round. I still have the giant totoro and my fingerless gloves waiting in line.
My son was sick the day before so I kept him home yesterday. He did not act sick in the least so I had him do school work and looked for nature/ science programs on TV. I made a joke on Facebook about looking up "science" on Hulu and being directed to Dr. Who. I got suggestions of science things to look up on Youtube and my sister-in-law sent me a cute little video of an octopus. The octopus was the cutest thing ever, it looked like a little alien. It was a dumbo octopus and the footage is from a Nautilus dive in September last year. You can look it up on Youtube if you want to see it. I wish I had a little stuffed animal of it and yes there is both a knit and crochet pattern for it. Sadly they cost money so I probably won't be making it. The Nautilus is an interesting thing too if you want to look that up, I'm just not going to link everything.
I think that's about it. The weather is a little warm for January and we aren't buried in snow like the east coast. No complaints here. I'll see you next time.
Wednesday, January 28, 2015
Here is the hat so far, it's a little longer than it was before. I have been working on this a little but also the heart bookmarks and charity knitting. I haven't been doing much crafting because the internet has been down a lot recently. (It was down for two whole days) With the internet down I have been reading and I can't read and craft at the same time. If the internet stays up I'll be able to watch things and knit or crochet at the same time.
The book I read was Thinking in Pictures by Temple Grandin. He job was designing humane ways of dealing with cattle as slaughterhouses but she is probably the most famous person with autism. It was interesting to see (hear?) her thoughts on life, growing up different, and how people are similar to cattle. It gave me some insight into my son (who is on the spectrum ) and gives me things to think about as he grows older. I have some other books to read as well but that was the first one I read.
Other than that I haven't been doing anything else. It's been uneventful which I think is a good thing. Hopefully if the internet keeps working I can post more often like I used to. I'll see you next time.
Friday, January 23, 2015
My sister sent me a picture of the cupcake. It's not the best picture but it's better than the one I have. I know I skipped days but that was because was just working on the hat and all the pictures would be the same. I did realize that it's almost Valentine's day and I was planning to make bookmarks for my son's class. I had him pick out a color of Red Heart and I made four last night. They aren't that hard, way easier than the spiders at Halloween last year. I am making things but I don't really feel like I'm making much progress.
I haven't really been doing anything else. I haven't even been getting as much crafting done as I would like. I thinking I've been a little down because the days have been so gloomy. It's not that cold but it's wet and gray. Maybe the sun will come out soon and I can get some energy. I'll see you next time.
Monday, January 19, 2015
So here is the hat so far. It's supposed to look at least some like the hat Schwartz wore in the movie A Christmas Story. I changed to colors to be more like the colors for the Detroit Lions foot ball team (which is my husband's favorite team). It's going to be really long. I gave up making baby mitts from the new pattern and will just make hats. I guess I'm just boring. I have a couple of things that I make and anything else doesn't seem to work out well. I really need to get the other things mailed.
The kids have the day off for Martin Luther King Jr. day. I gave them a lecture including how we still need to work on things. I really hope I can understand and make the world a better place as they grow up. It probably sounds cheesy but I really feel like teaching kids is a large part of fixing things. I guess that's all I have to say for today. I'll see you next time.
Sunday, January 18, 2015
These are the rice bowls and I think they are really cute. They are children's style ones. The next time I order some I'll get some that look more "traditional." I do want to get more but it will be a while.
For knitting I'm just working on the hat. That is going to be a while as well. I still have over sixty stitches on the needles and I need to decrease down to 6. I got the yarn that some people were destashing so now I have tons of purple yarn. I need to work on my charity knitting and see if I can finally get something without holes. I have so many projects I need to get done.
I think that's it. Nothing interesting. The kids have tomorrow off and yes I plan to make them do homework. I'll see you next time.
Wednesday, January 14, 2015
It's kind of hard to see the hearts but this is my favorite thing I have made recently. I used the cart from the Hearts for You sock pattern. I made five hearts then went back and forth for about ten rows to make the thumb hole so they are reversible. My daughter likes them and has been wearing them constantly. If I ever make these again I think I would try to make an additional heart on the back of the hand. Right now I've been working on my husband's hat and it's over seven inches. When I get to twelve I decrease for the long point. I'm still not sure what I will do after that but I have a lot of ideas.
I'm trying to think if anything interesting is going on here. I did rescue some yarn out of other people's destash so I'll show that when it gets here. The weather isn't too bad so I can't complain. I still need to get things mailed but I'm having a hard time finding the right size box for my niece's present. Just everyday problems I guess. I'll see you next time.
Monday, January 12, 2015
Here is the little fox. Can you see why it's not my favorite. A "g" hook usually gives me a good fabric but this seems so full of holes. I also putt it together a little wrong so I'm trying to decide if I should take it apart or make another one with a smaller hook. I started a hat for my husband and I'm going to wind the yarn for some fingerless mitts for myself. I also plan to work on the Totoro a little as well (as soon as I figure out where I left off).
I'm still watching After School Club. I'm on episode 38 and it's the beginning of 2014. I haven't really done anything else interesting. It's not so bitterly cold so that's nice. Oh, I got my first rice bowls. I like them and they arrived wrapped in a ton of bubble wrap. They are definitely for kids (I looked the company up) but I have kids so that works out. I may order some more in a couple of weeks. I think that's it. I'll see you next time.
Sunday, January 11, 2015
I skipped a lot of days. I was really busy with the children home because of the weather and some errands. I did have time to write yesterday but I forgot, so you get a Sunday entry. This is the last of the charity knitting I did for 2014. I'm working on a different pattern now but it's not going so well right now. I finished the fingerless gloves for my daughter and I put the eyes on the little fox. I'm really not happy with the little fox. It just really doesn't look good to me. I usually do well with little creatures but this one is weird. It's not my best work so I'll be sending other things as well, sort of as an apology. Now that those projects are done I'm starting some new ones. I stated a hat for my husband and I want to make some fingerless gloves for myself. I still want to finish my husband's sweater from last year and maybe make a sweater for myself. I have too many projects in my head.
I haven't really watched or listened to anything. I've been staying caught up on Healer and Pinocchio. The thing I have been watching is a cheesy show from Korea called After School Club. It's in English and is a show where kpop groups come on and talk to people from their international audience in real time. It's kind of fun and good background noise but my husband hates it. It's really not the best made show but it makes me laugh sometimes so that's good enough.
I am having trouble with my "R" so if things are spelled wrong I'm sorry. I'm trying to catch them but I'm sure I'll miss some. I hope the weather is better next week. Nothing else extra special going on here. See you next time.
Tuesday, January 6, 2015
This is the charity knitting from a week or so ago. It's the leftovers from the Hawkeye hat. I'm in the process of making am all black set. I haven't been doing much knitting or crocheting for almost a week now. I really need to get back to it. Maybe that's why I don't feel well. I don't know how much I'll do in the next few days because I'll be busy. The one thing I'm looking for patterns for are some longer fingerless gloves or mittens. I had some store bought gloves but I don't know where they went. I've been using my fingerless mitts since I'm usually just going from the house to the car but they are short. I want something longer so that when my sleeves ride up my wrists aren't cold. I found a few patterns I like so that will be added to the ever growing list. I'm going to have to work on something or I'll have nothing to show next time I blog.
I haven't been watching or listening to much either. I have watched a few videos by a woman who makes Korean food. She makes everything seem so easy. I do need a new knife of to get mine sharpened. There is no way I can cut things like she does with the knife I have. There is a also a pot (it may be a type of wok) that I want to get. I do want to get healthier and I think Asian cooking might be the way to go. I want to try things but my budget is such that I really can't exparment much. Dinner has to work right the first time. If I do get around to making anything I'll let you know how it goes.
All this thinking about Asian cooking has made me decide I want to collect rice bowls. I have wanted rice bowls for a while. I was looking at them on Amazon and got the idea that maybe I could "rescue" some off of Etsy or Ebay. Yes, I could get a matching set on Amazon or somewhere but I thought it would be fun to get a bunch of different ones like people do with tea cups. I don't know if I will really do this but I did order two off of Etsy. They look like they were made for kids and one has a monkey on so I really wanted to get it since my daughter really likes monkeys. I'll try and show you a picture when they come and let you know if I end up with a collection or now.
Outside of getting the car fixed while we were away (that was painfully expensive) I don't think anything else is going on here. The weather is unfun but not unexpeted for this time of year. Have a good day.

The scarf, it was very hard to take a picture of since it was so long. Throught the rest of the post I'll put in pictures of it in sections. It turned out pretty well. The pattern came with a shawl version as well and I was thinking if I did that in a worsted I could make panels to make a blanket. It's not like I need any other projects. I finished the cupcake but didn't get a picture of it. I also put together the tea pot cozy but I didn't get a picture of that either. They both went to my sister so maybe I can get a picture from her. Next on the list (outside of charity knitting) is: the eyes on the little fox. my daughter's fingerless mitts, and a little more on the giant Totoro.
We went to my parents house for a late Christmas but on the way there we sopped at HMart. It's basically your local Asian store but is has a lot of Korean products. I felt rused by my husband and Mooky wasn't behaving so it wasn't as fun as it could have been. Next time I will go with a list of ingredients for dishes I want to make. I did pick up some hot pepper paste, some rice cakes (not the American kind) for making ddeokbokki, a different kind of ramen, some soju and my husband got some oyster kimchi. They also sold live fish and shrimp there but that is beyond my cooking level. There is another location that I want to try and see if they have different things. I have heard that some have a "teen" section that has kpop merchandise. We won't be going back for a while but if we find anything interesting I'll let you know.
We went to my sister E's house to spend the night and it was a lot of fun. She lives on one floor of a two flat that is about a hundred years old. It was in bad shape and her (now) husband lived there while it was being fixed up as sort of a guard. It looks great now. It has all sorts of weird little spaces that make you wonder what the original purpose of it was. She and her husband like to play board games and so we played some with them before bed. The next morning they fed up waffles and bacon then we went to my mom and dad's. We saw one of my other sister's there and opened presents. It was nice and relaxing to hang out and talk to different people. We left around four so we could get to Mitsuwa for supper.
Mitsuwa was also a lot of fun. A friend from college said he might meet us there and he did. Not only that he brought some other friends, all of whom I hadn't seen in three years almost to the day. We ate and talked a bit then shopped around the books store till it was close to closing time. I had dolsot which is basically the same as bibimbap but it's served in a hot stone bowl. It was very good. Amey was sad that the sushi was sold out and Mooky actually ate some vegitabels since they were the tempura kind. We had to say good by to our friends but hopefully we can have this meet up again in a few months. We did a little grocery shopping for snacks then headed home.
It was a great weekend but I didn't get any knitting done. Now the trick is to get back into the regular routine. Hopefully I won't be skipping many more days. I'll see you next time.

And I'm back! My husband ran some antivirus software so I should be o.k. now. This is the picture I took on Christmas eve. Now our year long project is over. I wanted to make calender but I haven't had a chance yet.
I tried to take a picture of the scarf but it's so long I couldn't really find a good way to do that. I'll try and get one of it on my dad. In the pattern the picture they used it the stairs but the only ones I have access to is are covered with salt. I finished the tea cozy (mostly) and it looks small. You make it in two halves and I didn't join them, I'll do that when I see the tea pot in person. I started a little tiny sample so I can teach my niece when I visit them this weekend. I'm going to try to work on the cupcake pillow and see if I can get it done before we go but I don't think I'll make it. The next projects (outside of finishing the tea cozy) are: the cupcake pillow, the eyes on the little fox, then get back to finishing the fingerless mitts for Amey.
I finished Modern Farmer when I wasn't on the computer. I was really cute but I'm not sure it's going to be in my top three and Healer will take it's place. I'm not saying that Modern Farmer got worse it's just I was a tiny bit disappointed with the end. The plot for Modern Farmer is about a washed up rock band who are leading their own live but the lead singer is still desperate to try to make an album. He gets the bright idea to grow cabbage on the farm his grandma left him because the price is supposed to rise. The band gets back together to farm but they know nothing and keep making many mistakes and the rest of the villagers don't like them. All of the guys come for different reasons and grow up and together over the course of the show. There is a great mix of over the top slap stick humor and talking about serious issues. The one thing some people my not like is there is a lot of potty humor (a lot). People are pooping a peeing everywhere. I think it balances out though with the other subjects. It might put you off of eating almonds for a while though. The reason I was disappointed with the end (just a little) was the boys seemed to grow up so much over the show but at the end they are back to their bad behavior and not taking responsibility. That's the way it feels to me anyway. One of the funniest thing (to me anyway) was that the lead actor was Lee Hong Ki who is the lead singer for the band FT Island. There were a couple of times when they said things like "We'll be more famous than Lee Hong Ki" or "We're better than FT Island." Yeah it's a cheap laugh but I was amused anyway. Wile it may not be in my top three anymore it's definitely number four. I would recommend it as long as the poop and pee jokes aren't too much for you.
The only other thing going on here is we tried to make cookies and it was a big mess. They tasted o.k. but they were really crunchy and not what they are supposed to be. We'll try again some other time. I'm planning to visit my parents this weekend so I don't think I will be able to blog (I'm not sure about tomorrow). I'm sure I'll have lots of interesting things to say when I get back. Have a happy and safe New Year.
