This is a free washcloth pattern Easy Crocheted Dishcloth by Cheri Mancini.  It's more of a recipe than a pattern.  I really like it because the fabric turns out thinner.  Most patterns I have seen seem thick to me.  It makes me wonder how this would turn out in a maybe a dk or sport weight and a cotton/acrylic blend.  I'll have to keep my eye out for that.

I feel like I really made progress on my husband's sweater.  It's about 15" now so it's almost time for the armhole shaping.  It still feels like I'm behind but it's getting better.  On Skein after Skein, Michele said she was going to knit her sleeves two at a time and I though that was a great sounding idea.  When I get to that point I think I will try it.  I'm still working a row or two on my next dishcloth before I go to bed.  I realized that I haven't worked any pattern repeats on my daughter's sock so that's next on the list.  It probably won't happen today though.

Yesterday was a podcast day.  I said I listened to Skein after Skein but I also listened to Knitabulls, The Fat Squirrel Speaks and old episodes of Knitting in Circles.  I was really sad when I head Diane (Knitabulls) is also going to the Knitting Pipeline Retreat.  That makes Steve (Dramatic Knits), Amy Beth (The Fat Squirrel Speaks), and Diane are all going and I can't, not this year anyway.  I'm just about a year behind on Knitting in Circles so I should catch up soon and be able to start another one.  Today I'll play WOW but that means I won't get much crafting done.

My phone is driving me nuts, first world problems I know.  I have to find out if it's the phone or the service but I miss calls.  My son was supposed to have an appointment yesterday and I never got the reminder call.  Technically they could have called when I was out doing laundry or something but my phone didn't list a missed call or that I had a voice mail message.  It's done this before and so far it's just been inconvenient not serious but that might happen.  I'm just extra irritated because this is one of those places that if you miss two appointments they kick you out and I would never have missed on purpose.  O.k. enough complaining.

Today I'm supposed to drive my neighbor around once my husband comes home.  It is sometimes exhausting but today she may be buying a sewing machine.  I'm so excited to teach her how to use it.  She feels intimidated but I think once she starts using it she will really enjoy it.  I have a plan to teach her starting with just naming the parts and talking about the functions.  I'll have her put the needle in and work on just "sewing" paper to get the feel. After that I'll teach her how to thread it and have her sew some scraps.  Eventually I want to have her make a simple skirt for her daughter.  Brett Bara has a really simple tutorial that I think she can do.  This seems like it will be fun.

Tomorrow is the first so hopefully we can get a picture if the weather isn't too bad.  It shouldn't be colder than it was in January but I feel cold because I'm so tired of it.  I'll try and remember to post tomorrow and let you know.

Here is the finished scarf.  On this one the ends, where I had to join a new ball of yarn, ended up in the same place so I go an odd lump.  I don't know why it looks skinnier at one end when it's the same number of stitches.  I do plan to make a hat but I have so many other projects to do first.

I did finish stuffing the ice cream pillow for my daughter, I just haven't  taken a picture of it yet.  Today I will work on my husband's sweater.  I think at last count it was at 12" but it might be 13".  I have a hard time measuring sometimes.  I am enjoying the yarn bowl so far but it is a tad clunky to go anywhere with.  I started a new wash cloth.  It shouldn't take me long.

Yesterday I had fun with Running Man.  I was going to watch Let's Eat but I am spoiled.  I don't like to watch things at my computer, I like to watch them on the TV.  The internet was not letting me do that so I watched Running Man instead.  Jackie Chan was on an episode and he looked really different.  I know he's older but I think it was his hair cut.  He seems to have his hair the same way in many of the movies that I have seen and this time it was a buzz cut.  He was really funny but some how the over all show wasn't that funny.  I know that the whole Gary/Ji hyo, Monday couple, thing isn't real but they look so good together and work well together, it's hard not to have a secret hope that it's real.  And then they played the biscuit game and it had my silly little heart all a flutter.   The biscuit game is where you take a long "biscuit" (it would work with a pretzel) and one person holds it in their mouth as the other munches toward them.  It make it look like they are going to kiss.  I can see why people think Gary wrote "Zotto Mola" for/about Ji Hyo. Kwang Soo was funny when he had to play the biscuit game as well.  It was so adorable.  Kwang Soo is becoming on of my favorites.  He is a model and when you see his professional pictures he looks so different.  In Running Man they have him play the role if the fool and edit and style him that way.  In the beginning he just got bullied by everyone and made fun of.  Now he's kind of standing up for himself and showing what he is really capable of not just what he's scripted to be and I enjoy that.  Ji Hyo is funny too.  In one episode they were supposed to do something with heights so she was climbing a tall tower and said "I'm getting sleepy, I'll go bungee jump." Who says those kids of things? She was the only one who bungee jumped that just went for it and wasn't afraid.  Apparently I'm enjoying Running Man lately.

I'm sorry if you have no interest in Running Man.  That last paragraph would have been extremely boring then.  I was planning to play WOW today but when I logged in it was lagging so bad it wouldn't have been fun.  I'm listening to podcasts today.

It is cold again today.  I took the kids to the bus stop and I had on what I thought were decent gloves.  By the time I got half way to the bus stop the tips of my fingers were cold.  Apparently the gloves weren't as good as I thought they were.  I'm just glad I made my kids were their snow pants even though there isn't much snow.  Today is supposed to be the coldest day this week so hopefully it will start warming up now. That's it for my complaining, see you next time.

Another ice cream scoop, so boring I know.  This is the first scoop of the ice cream pillow for my about to be a three year old niece. On the plus side I'm going to work on sewing together my daughter's pillow, you know the one I've had done for a wile.  I'm putting up the pictures in the order they were finished so the next one will be the stripy scarf.

Yesterday I fixed the problem with my husband's sweater and created a new one.  I skipped a knit and purl row so one repeat is short.  I'm just going to leave it.  It will equal out the long repeat from before.  I didn't take a picture of it because it doesn't look any different.  If I finish Amey's ice cream cone pillow then I will go back to working on the sweater.  It's about 12" and I hoped to have the back done by now.  I did finish a wash cloth as well, so I printed off some free ones.  I want to make lots. I never seem to be able to find one when I want one and I can retire some of the old ones I have that are falling apart.

I listened to podcasts yesterday but I don't remember anything standing out.  Watching Knitting in Circles really makes me want to spin more but I have so many other projects to do it tends to fall to the bottom of the list.  Today I'll watch Running Man.

My nose is still runny but I actually did my exercises properly so this is a step in the right direction.  I need to go change the bedding and get new toothbrushes to get rid of the last of the germs.  It is so cold today I really want spring.  Hopefully next week will be warmer.

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

Here is the stripy scarf as of Saturday or Sunday.  The two colors became very similar and I forgot which one was which so I guessed when I attached the new balls.  The scarf is finished now but I didn't take a picture of it yet.  I'll do that today but not sure I'll show it next time or something else first.

I did play WOW yesterday but there was nothing interesting.  I'm having a lot of trouble with my frost mage. She has always had the easiest time leveling (of my mages) but she has just kind of hit a wall with her last grind to 90. Today I am really looking forward to listening to podcsts today.

I did finish the scarf and an ice cream scoop.  Since I finished my before bed/waiting room knitting I started a dish/wash cloth.  I may be able to knock a bunch of  those easily.  I want to make and use more wash cloths because I want to use more soap and less body wash.  I found something weird on the sweater so I am going to tink back and fix it.  It's about a half and inch but it's sad. I also have to keep track of what row I'm taking it back to.  I really need to get working on that I feel so behind.

I saw some deer yesterday.  As I was driving I saw the deer (about three maybe) on a little hill.  As I turned the corner I saw another one in the street.  They appeared to me to be to be young and maybe like an "I double dare you to cross the street" kind of thing.  Yes, I am giving human thoughts to animals.

I ordered my dress for my sister's wedding.  On the plus side, with the low price they regularly charge and the "first time buyer" coupon it was only about $40.  On the down side I'm nervous that I got the wrong size.  It did give you an option to enter you measurements, which I did, but I feel like I'm so odd sized they can't make it work. I had  my husband help me measure but I'm going to be nervous till I get it.  My son is the next one to get an outfit.  I did buy a yard of fabric, that has a fire pattern on it, so maybe I can make him a tie or have someone make it.  I think my husband will wear red socks to match the red shoes I'm going to wear. That's the plan anyway.  I'll see you next time.

Look what I got!  It's my first yarn bowl.  I have been looking at the yarn bowls on Etsy randomly but happened to see this one.  It was only around the $20 mark and I figured if I didn't buy it right then it would be gone.  The only thing "wrong" with it is that the picture is on the opposite side of the yarn so if I turn the slit towards me I can't see the picture.  I haven't been working on my husband's sweater much so I haven't really tested it yet but I'm excited.

This weekend I didn't do much.  I did work on the scarf and on an ice cream scoop but that's it.  I'm hoping to get back to my regular routine so I can get something done.  I haven't turned one thing in to Nerd Wars either. Hopefully the scarf will be done, I have about nine more inches.

I did play a tiny bit of WOW and got my fire mage to level 71.  I also watched a couple of episodes of Running Man.  One episode had an MMA fighter on and it was interesting to see someone stronger than Jong Kook.   There was also an episode where only Kwang Soo was left on a team and he won.  It's nice to see the "under dog" win.   Today I plan to play WOW.

Every one seems to be getting better and the colds are going way.  I even did a little exercise today.  It looks like things are getting back on track.  Talk to you next time.

Saturday, February 22, 2014

The sweater is getting bigger as well.  I haven't worked on it much right now.  I'm still way behind.

I got a view from Poland.  That's really cool.  I love "collecting" countries.

I didn't really do anything yesterday.  I did a little on the stripy scarf but that's it.  I really need to get working on somethings.  Yesterday we got three movies and a ton of junk food  had a movie night.  The kids enjoyed it but now I feel like we need to eat a ton of healthy food to counter act it. We watched Despicable Me 2, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2 and Monsters University.  I liked Despicable Me best but the marsh mellows in  Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs were really cute. I'm planing to play WOW today and work on ice cream pillows.  That is if the kids don't drive me crazy first.

It's getting longer!  You can't see it in the picture but some how I bent the size U.S. 7 metal needle in this project.  It doesn't mess the knitting up.  It feels like it's taking forever.

I listened to podcasts yesterday.  I find Amy Beth (The Fat Squirrel Speaks) so funny.  My husband walked in right when she was talking about bras and not wearing them.  On Homespun House, Molly talked about an indy dyer and showed some pretty fiber.  I went to look at the Etsy shop and all the pictures were blueish.  The color was very off.  I found the same fiber in the shop that was in the podcast and they looked nothing alike.  People who sell on Etsy need to invest in good camera.  If that shop had not been mentioned I would have passed it by because of the pictures.  I know all monitors are different but on the podcast the fiber looked like it had green in it but in the shop it looked like a mustard yellow, that it too different.  It was just odd.

I'm still working on all the projects I have been working on.  Nothing new to report except the sweater and the scarf are getting longer.  Boring, I know, sorry.

I was talking to my sister about the music teacher's note and she said it's common to take kids that age to the symphony for the purpose of teaching them to sit still more than the music.  I do understand that but I think it was just worded poorly.  That and I'm sure I'm over sensitive.

There is a movie night at the school tonight but we're not going.  The parking at the school is horrid, the weather is unfun, and my husband is really sick.  He rarely calls in sick and he came home at lunch today. I'm going to take the kids to the store and let them rent a movie and buy "movie" snacks and have a movie night here.  The kids might be sad a little but I think this will make up for it.

I think that's it for today.  Maybe I'll make lots of progress and be able to talk more about projects next time.  I feel like I need one more sentence so here it is.  lol

Thursday, February 20, 2014

Fire ice cream, just what you always wanted.  See how that red is kid of a Kool-aid red?  A crayon red would have been better but it still works.  It's just not fun to crochet.

I'm sorry I skipped yesterday.  I had errands that took up too much time.  I listened to podcasts on Tuesday and that was fun.  On the Fat Squirrel Speaks, Amy Beth showed a journal that looks interesting.   It has a quote on the top of every page and you just write one sentence about it then over the next five years go back  and do the same thing.  So over five years you get five sentences for every quote. I think I want to get one for me and my daughter (my son doesn't read or write well enough yet).  There was a podcaster named Karrie Steinmetz (knitpurlgurl) who influenced many people.  I never hear her podcast but she is spoken of on many podcasts.  She died suddenly in November of 2012 and everyone was shocked and hurt (understandably).  It is so weird to watch old podcasts where they say "Knitpurlgurl did this..." or "I talked to Knitpurlgurl last night..." and know whats coming.  You want to make them stop or wish you had a time machine to warn them.  On Knitting in Circles I just passed the episode where they found out she died.  It was very sad.

On a lighter note yesterday I watched Running Man.  I enjoyed it more than I did last time.  There were two episodes especially, the Running Man Olympics and the reincarnation episode.  I had some really good laughs.  It does make me wonder again how much is scripted (even though they don't have a script).  I am sad that they keep calling Gary ugly. He doesn't look like a flower boy but he's not ugly.  It made me sad to find out that he's called Gary because his nickname in school was dog (gae).  I don't think it's one of those miscommunication things like how in English calling someone "pumpkin" is cute but in Korean it means ugly.  It makes me want to root for him more.  I was going to play WOW but it was down this morning so I'll listen to podcasts.

I have been working on the sweater and the scarf but that's about it.  The sweater last measured 10".  It's coming along but still a ways to go.  I have nothing new going on so noting to say.

I have a bit of a rant. It's first world I know but it irritates me.  Last year the kids school got a new principal.  He's fine but he stated using the notification system for reminders not just school closings.  I don't like that.  I don't care about your fundraiser, if I wanted to go I would go. I feel like the system should only be used for school closings and emergencies. The other thing is the music teacher.  She is taking the fourth grade to the symphony and sent home a not about it.  Here is a quote:
"As you are fully aware, a symphony is no football game.  The expectation of behavior
and etiquette are a must.  This will be discussed in detail the every child. It would be
greatly appreciated if you  could reinforce the expectations at home as well. I would
also like to ask that the children dress a little nicer for the day to authenticate the
experience of attending the symphony." (bold is hers)
This makes me want to smack her and I'm sure I'm over reacting.  Obviously behavior on a field trip is important but you need to control your class. I could say things till I'm blue in the face but I'm not there.  Do you think I encourage my kids to act up? Yes the kids can dress up but it's still cold so I would be more concerned with warmth first.  It just seems so snooty especially with her bold.  To be fair there was more to the note but this felt insulting. O.k. fussing over.

It's been so warm a lot of snow has melted.  There is a ditch behind the apartment on the way to the bus that I always walk around but the kids go through especially if the snow is deep because that's fun. I did not walk the kids to but bus today, told them to go on their own.  A few minutes after I sent them Mooky came back kind of hopping.  He lost his boot in the muck of melted snow that had now accumulated at the bottom of the ditch and he said something was wrong with Amey.  I thought she had abandoned him and was going to tell her off when I went out there to get the boot.   The water was almost to the top of the boot and she was standing a little father on crying because she was stuck.  I got her to come to me a bring the boot.  We came in and changed socks and into shoes and I drove them since this made them miss the bus (luckily my husband was home). This was not an adventure I was looking for. I also might get a ticket because in the parking lot I passed a bus.  It was in the process of putting out it's stop sign and it wasn't all the way out yet but that is a technicality. I wouldn't have done that on the road and if I do get a ticket I deserve it.

O.k. that's it.  I hope you weren't board and don't think I'm an idiot. lol

The infamous sweater.  It's bigger now since I've been working hard on it trying to catch up.  At last measurement it was 8".  I did discover another problem though. On one of the repeats I made it two rows longer (one knit and one purl).  I have a few options the first of which is to rip it out.  I really don't want to do that after all the ripping I did on the ribbing.  I think I'll just leave it and try to remember to make the same repeat two rows longer on the front.  I'm not sure the general public will notice.  I was also thinking of making every third repeat two rows longer as if it's part of the pattern.  I'll have to think about it.  I asked the Shady Cels group too.

I didn't really enjoy WOW yesterday.  I think everyone is just in areas that aren't fun.  I'm excited to listen to podcasts today.  I'll work on my husband's sweater as I listen.  I didn't get much done on the ice cream pillow yesterday but I generally don't get much crafting done on WOW days.  I decided what I want to make with the Highland Handmade yarn.  It will be a shawl but I have a bunch of stuff to do first.

I'm feeling a lot better except for a cough.  Walking the kids to the bus stop was a work out the snow was so deep.  It's supposed to be warm today (in the 40's) so a lot of it will melt. It's supposed to be nice this whole week I'm looking forward to it.  Have a good day.

Monday, February 17, 2014

It's getting longer.  I'm  a little confused because the other one was 37 stitches and this is 39 but it seems thinner and it's the same needles.  I wonder if it's just how the yarn was spun since it's a single and there are some thin spots.

Nothing exciting happened over the weekend.  I listened to podcasts which was fun.  I am about up to November of 2012 for Knitting in Circles.   Nothing stood out to me as especially interesting or funny.  Yesterday I watched Running Man.  It was funny in spots but I can see why people aren't as amused by 2013.  There was one episode (the 2012 Christmas special) where they had some big guys on from another show.  All through the episode there were a lot of "you're fat" comments.  It made me sad.  Today is a WOW day.

I worked really hard on my husband's  sweater.  The new cable needle helps.  I still feel behind but not as behind as I did.  I hope I don't have as much trouble with the ribbing on the front.  I added the red scoop to my son's ice cream cone and today I'll work on the second orange one.  If I finish that it's back to my husband's sweater so I can catch up.  I figure caught up is about an inch a day.  I wanted to enter My daughter's  pillow in NerdWars for the flexible schedule category but you need to have done two hours on it and I don't think the cone took me two hours.

Today is Presidents day so all the banks are closed and there is no mail delivery.  Schools in general are off as well.  One of the school districts around here was planning to have school to make up for all the days off we've had this year for weather.  It turns out with the snow today it turned into a snow day anyway.  That figures right?  I think that's it for today.  I never know how to end these things. :)

Saturday, February 15, 2014

This is what I plan to work on tomorrow.  I bought a bright red for the bottom scoop.  I thought I would get a primary red but I saw one that was a Kool-aid red (for lack of a better term) and I think he will like it better.

Yesterday's WOW was not really that productive.  I got spoiled because the areas I need to do in Eastern Kingdoms had 10-40 quests.  Where I am now has 60 and the next area had 90.  This is going to take a wile.  Today I'm going to listen to podcasts and it looks like quite a few people updated since I checked last.

I worked on my Age of Brass and Steam yesterday.  It's driving me nuts.  I got off counting some where and trying to fix it is making me crazy.  I will count a row  three times and it will be one stitch off.  I'll do the next row and with out fixing any thing the count will be exact.  Then the next row is off two stitches.  I think I just can't count.  I think when I finish this repeat and I'm back on track it will be better. I'm working on my husband's sweater today.

I went to knit night at one of the local yarn stores.  I was excited to go in the morning but as the day went on I got more and more nervous.  I was coming up with excuses not to go.  I did finally go and it was pretty good.  The ladies all knew each other so they were talking about things and people I don't really know about. I would like to go back and give it another try but I sometime I drive my neighbor around on Fridays and she wouldn't want to go.   Going did make me think that maybe I'm not as bad a knitter as I thought I was, maybe I'm just arrogant.  The woman on the left of me was struggling with a mitten.  I don't think I would struggle.  Maybe because I have made them in crochet, the concept seems clear to me.  A lady a couple of people on the right said she thought the garter tab start of the Age of Brass and Steam was complicated.  This didn't make sense to me as she was wearing a nice hand made sweater.  I thought if she could make that a garter tab start, wile weird, isn't hard if I can do it.  Do I just pick up on concepts easily?  I did buy a new cable needle. Yeah! I also got a ball of Crazy Zauberball. I want to make socks for me two at at time.  Not two at a time on the same needle but on separate needles.  Like toe, toe, foot, foot ect.  I bought the Fish Lips Kiss heel (I think that's the name) and I want to try it.  My needles came so I can do it but I'm trying really hard not to cast something new on.

O.k. that's it for today.  Time to got clean with the kids.  Not as much fun as crafting. :)

Friday, February 14, 2014

O.k. so it's Valentine's Day and this is sweet so it counts right?  I just have to go get some stuffing and sew it together.

Happy Valentine's Day if you celebrate that kind of thing.  My husband and I are very laid back about it. Usually I'll  buy something kind of expensive (for me) around Valentine's Day and call it my present.  I know my husband's coworkers have given him a hard time in the past for not getting me something but really what would he get me that I want?  Flowers die, I don't need more sugar and do you know how much yarn you can get for the price of  some jewelry?  I did get a little stuffed toy with some candy for the kids.

I got the first repeat done on my husband's sweater.  I still feel really behind.  I was worried that it would be small till I realized that the style of the sweater was close fitting and not puffy like a sweat shirt.  I didn't even think of that when I was picking patterns I was looking at the cables.  I should have gone up a size so he could have that bulky feel but I am not ripping it out again.  I hate the cable needle I bought.  I almost made a Knit Picks order but I stopped myself.  I tried some things I have around the house and what worked best (for me) was a small crochet hook about a size 2.  I could slip the stitches with the hook end and knit off the blunt handle.  It was a little long but way less cumbersome than the fat hook shaped one I have (it looks like a fishing hook for an alligator or something).  I'll have to keep an eye out for a better cable needle like the crochet hook.  People suggest double point needles but I don't own any.  I may go to the yarn store for their knit night so maybe they have something better than what I have.  I'm taking  break from my husband's sweater today and working on my shawl. I'm stuck on the ice cream pillows right now.

Yesterday I did watch Running Man.  The episodes were funny but nothing stood out to me a note worthy. Gary is my favorite right now. Today I plan to play WOW so I don't know how much knitting I'll get done.

I'm so much better.  Just a little drippy nose left.  My husband is rarely sick so even though it's not hitting him as hard he's paranoid about how sick he is.  He was asking if I thought he had mono.  He cracks me up sometimes.  My daughter is sick now but she really wanted to go to school for the Valentine's party.  She'll be o.k. I just hope she isn't too miserable.

Thursday, February 13, 2014

This doesn't look like much right now scrunched up on the needles, but it's going to be nice when it's done.  I'm making another "Age of Brass and Stream" with some handspun.  I have another ball and the yarn overs really show now that I know what I'm doing.  This hasn't been getting much work lately.

I think the only podcast that had updated was Wolfe Farms so I listened to a bunch of old episodes of Knitting in Circles.  It's interesting to hear them talk about preparing for a hurricane since we don't have those here.  Today is a kdrma day.  I really need to watch Let's Eat but I don't feel like it, I just need the laugh from Running Man.  I'll get back to Let's Eat eventually.

I finally got through the ribbing on my husband's sweater!  I put in a stitch marker after every repeat.  I don't think I'll need them forever but for now I think it will help.  If I have three months to do this sweater I should finished the back this month and by the date I should be about half way done and I am barely started. I think the cabling will be easier but slower.  I may have the wrong cable needle for me as well.  I'll work with it for now but we'll see, I might do better with just a extra tip from my interchangeable set.  I am going to finish the cone on my daughter's pillow but then I'll stop because I don't have enough stuffing.  I also need to get red for my son's fire ice cream.

I'm feeling so much better today but feel bad for my husband as he has caught it now, at least he has a long weekend to recover.   Amey is sneezing now too.   Other than that nothing new around here.  I feel like there was something else to say but I can't remember.  If I do remember I'll write it down and talk about it next time.  See you later!

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

This is the only thing that has been worked on since it's waiting room knitting.  It's bigger now, but I don't have a more recent picture.

WOW went o.k.  I did a quest in Pandaria that I hadn't done before.  It might be more interesting now that I'm in an area I haven't been in before.  My frost mage still had over half a level to 90.  I also got the achievement for 2000 quests.   My hunter left Zangarmarsh and is in Terokkar forest.  Today is podcast day.

I'm still snotty but am feeling better.  I really want to get back to my regular schedule.  I have made progress as a house wife (I didn't have a better term) since I was only doing bare minimums and the house is messy but not trashed, well the public areas.  I'm going to work on my husband's sweater wile I listen to podcasts but it's driving me nuts.  It shouldn't take me weeks to get past the ribbing on just the back. I found another mistake.  About twenty stitches from one end I had four knits together instead of knit, knit, purl, purl.  I just dropped the stitches down and picked them up with a crochet hook.  I have never done that with end stitches before so I hope it's o.k.  Also it will be part if the seam so that shouldn't be seen. I will be so glad to get out of the ribbing.  Hopefully I will have more progress tomorrow.

Since I'm sick I just did some "exercises" buy standing in place and wiggling to some music (I don't dance). I realized how much fun and energy are in some kpop songs.  The other thing I'm trying to do is eat better today.  I've been sucking on cough drops and peppermints and that is so much sugar I don't need.  Hopefully I won't need so many today and get back to healthier.   I think that's it for today I think.  See you next time.

This is the yarn I got from Highland Handmade.  I don't know what I'll use it for yet though.  I did order some more needles so maybe I can make socks.

Sorry I didn't write yesterday. My son gave me his cold.  Sunday I felt it some but the worst symptom was no energy.  I took a decongestant before bed thinking it would clear my sinuses up enough to let me sleep well enough to kick it.  Unfortunately the decongestant woke me up.  I tossed and turned all night.  At about 3 a.m.  I went to the love seat so at least my husband could sleep.  At 5 I gave up and started doing dishes.  I was getting snatches of sleep but as soon as I knew I was dreaming I woke up.  Once I got the kids off to school I went back to bed and had a nap.  That threw the whole day off.  Today I still feel icky but not so tired.  I'm to the point where my sinuses are draining into my lungs and making me cough.  Blah!

Needless to say I got almost no crafting done.  I did buy some more brown for the cone part of the ice cream cone.  Now that I'm getting my energy back I'll work on that.  I realized I carefully cast on 160 stitches for my husband's sweater and it was going well, but I really needed 150 so it got ripped out again.  This has not been a productive weekend.  I did listen to podcasts and watch Running Man over the weekend but nothing jumps out at me.  I'm going to play WOW today and try to get a little bit of house work done not to mention crafting.  Hopefully I'll have something better to report tomorrow.

Wow look at all the progress I made on my husband's sweater (that was sarcasm).  I'll get back to working on it eventually but right now it just feels like it takes so long.  I think it will go faster once I get past the ribbing.

I watched some Running Man.  There was an episode with TVXQ! that I watched with my daughter. She liked it and if there are other groups she likes that come on we'll watch those together too.  I didn't realize that in Korea they are called DBSK!  I also saw the Running Man Hunter episode.  It was interesting but I liked the grasshopper hunting episode better.  Today is a WOW day.

I worked on my son's ice cream pillow a little but it's just not fun to work on.  I'll work on that today again.  Being a WOW day I won't get much done but if I finish this scoop I'll work on my husband's sweater again.

Mooky has a very stuffy runny nose so he woke up sometime after 3:00 a.m. and I gave him some medicine.  Since I was up I was on Facebook for a wile,  When I wen back to bed he was in my spot and sleeping so soundly I didn't want to move him.  I ended up not being able to fall asleep till I went to the couch at 5.  I'm so tired now.  Our latest adventure involves Mooky too.  A little wile ago he came up to me and said: "you'll have to talk in this ear because I have a Lego in this one."  Yeah, removing a Lego from a seven year old's ear was not in my plans today.  It was a hand so it wasn't to hard to pull out with tweezers.  I was just glad it wasn't too far in and we would have to go to the ER.  I'm so tired I think I'll go take a nap.

Here is my son's ice cream pillow.  He wanted fire colors.  I don't enjoy working on this but I know he'll enjoy it.  Someone said it looked a little like a Jayne hat (from Firefly) so that made me feel a little better.

I got a view form New Zealand!  What I know about New Zealand:  they have beautiful scenery and sheep. I love polwarth to spin and the picture of moorit polwarth was from New Zealand.  Another place I would love to visit.

Nothing really to report on the crafting side.  I did work on my husband's sweater and got about an inch done on the ribbing  It feels like it's taking forever and that doesn't bode well for finishing by the end of April.  I really didn't watch or do anything yesterday.  I kind of zoned out and I'm still tired.  Today I plan to watch Kdrama but I'm going to drive my neighbor around so I may not be home much.  I'm sure I'll work on one of the ice cream pillows and get some more done on the stripy scarf before bed.  Sorry it's short and boring today.

I haven't made much progress on this lately.  I need to finish the last cone and buy stuffing.  It takes a lot of stuffing.  I'll get back to working on it soon.

I didn't play much yesterday and I've been doing errands today so  I'll play WOW when I get round to it today.  I did get "Lore Master" for Eastern Kingdoms so now on to the next area. I did finally get the cast on right on my husband's sweater.  I'll work more on the sweater today but after that I think I'll work on the ice cream pillows again.  I did work some on the stripy scarf in a waiting room so that's something.

Here are some random things.  I got a comment on one of my projects on Ravelry.  I saw a picture of some polwarth sheep that were a red/brown and learned that color is called "morrit."  I had a discussion with my son  about the difference between having an exoskeleton and an adamantium skeleton.  That's science, right? Talk to you next time.

Spinning!  I haven't been doing much lately.  On the last Homespun House that I watched she got a spindle and she said "This is heavy, so for plying or making worsted weight."  I don't know how heavy her spindle is but the spindle in the picture is about 2 oz.  This is often considered heavy for a spindle and I think my singles are very thin.  For me I prefer the heaver spindles, all my favorites are around the 2 oz mark.  The fiber is The Painted Tiger.  She's local (about 45 minutes form me) and she likes rainbows so she gets my money.  lol

I ended up just listening to podcasts yesterday so I'll play WOW today.  Listening to Knitting in Circles is making me want to spin more but I have so many project. I did get the repeat done on my daughter's sock.  I figure I will increase after the seventh repeat since it's only two stitches.  I don't think that will matter in the grand scheme of things.  I can see how if I had been doing the yarn overs correctly the hearts would have shown up better.  My husbands sweater has been cast on an ripped out three times now.  I'm going to try it one more time.  If I can't get it I'll put it away for a couple of days.  That's all I'm working on right now.

Yesterday we went to get spacers put in Amey's teeth.  The first step to braces.  If the braces were just for straightening teeth I would wait for her adult teeth but apparently her jaw doesn't sit right or something so she is going to have a ton of stuff in her mouth for the next three years.  When we got to the waiting room there was a lady knitting.  Amey wanted to pile her stuff in the corner and I said, “You know I can’t sit there”  When she wanted to know why I said, “Because she’s knitting. I have to sit by her.” The lady was startled for a second but then asked if I knit.  I said "Yes I don't go to a waiting room without it."  She was working with some purple and silver (where the silver was wrapped around the purple like Christmas yarn) that looked acrylic.  She said she was making a poncho for her sister. She said she would also add some crochet flowers with pretty button centers. Wile that is not my style I hope her sister really likes it.  She said she works with home care and one of her clients was teaching her.  She had never heard about Ravelry so I told her.  I always try to sell people on the free patterns and once they get there I think they will be hoked.  I had to go pay so I didn't get to talk to her for long but I hope she joins Ravelry and has fun.  It would also be fun if her sister lived in the area and I saw the poncho in the wild.

It's snowing again/still.  It was a work out to get to the bus stop when the snow was up to my knees.  My son was a little freaked out how far he was sinking in the snow.  It's still snowing a little and the roads are bad.  I secretly think they didn't cancel school today because there were so many days off for weather already.  It's definetly a hot coco day.

Here is the finished scarf. It's the Noro Striped Scarf by Jared Flood, it's free on Ravelry. I forgot to measure it and my daughter wore it to school so I'll have to measure when she gets back.  It doesn't look even and I'm not sure why, my cast off edge isn't the best either.

Yesterday was a bit disappointing form a craft point of view.  I cast 160 stitches on for my husband's sweater (the back) with stitch markers every fifty stitches to make sure my count was right.  I was about 3/4 of the way through the row when I realized I did it wrong.  I was doing 1x1 rib and the pattern called for 2x2.  So I ripped it all out and said I'll try again later. I tried to get one repeat done on my daughter's socks but didn't finish.  I put a "7" on the paper to say where to start the calf increases but I don't remember if it's before or after the seventh repeat.  Today I will cast on my husband's sweater again and try to work on it for two hours (not in row, I will take breaks).  If I get that done (big if) I'll go back to working on my shawl.  I got messed up on what row I was on and added stitches and really I was fine.  I just won't add stitches till I'm at the right stitch count again, I don't think you will be able to tell.

I talked to one of my sisters for two and a half hours yeasterday.  I don't mind since I only talk to her once a week or every other week.  If I did it every day that would be a problem.  I watched an episode of Let's Eat and some Running Man.  Let's Eat was making my daughter and I hungry.  The next episode of Running man has TVXQ! on it so I'm wondering if my daughter will want to watch with me like she did with the Big Bang episode.  Today is supposed to be a WOW day but I can't find my authenticator.  If I find it I'll play but until then I'll listen to podcasts.

I am really bad at spelling.  If an English word (the computer doesn't like Korean words) has the little red line under it I look it up in Yahoo! or Google.  The thing is that so many other people are bad spellers sometimes it pulls up misspelled websites or articles and it is harder to find the right word.  On the plus side writing almost every day has helped me when I misspell the same word over and over I get it right eventually.  That's it for today.  I'll show you my spinning next time.

The Oaklet shawl by Megan Goodacre.  It's free on Ravely.  The color is more fall than the picture looks and spine is not really twisted, it's the wind.  The yarn was from The Painted Tiger and called Ancient Tomes  I learned a lot with this shawl.  The first thing is that my purl stitches were a lot bigger than my knit ones.  I thought this was because I knit continental but I started watching what I was doing.   I hadn't realized that my index finger on my right hand was holding the stitch down.  I use that finger to guide the needle but in the process I was holding the stitch in place and causing it to stretch. When I knit I guide the needle but then move my finger to wrap the stitch so it's not holding on anymore.  I'm trying to keep an eye on that and just move my hand down a bit to guide the needle so the first stitch is free.  If you look up the pattern there is a pretty lace pattern on the border.  Mine has a pretty pattern too but the holes don't show at all.  I was discussing this with the other girls on the Shady Cels thread and we figured out I yarn over wrong.  I was doing yarn overs like I do in crochet and apparently this is backwards form knit and actually called an invisible increase.  Because of this I stated another shawl that has lots of yarn overs to try it out and it seems to be working well so far.  When I went to block this I put it in the water (with some Soak) and then got busy and didn't get back to it for about two days (not on purpose).  When I did get back to it the water was a muddy color which was no big deal but I dried it on a light colored towel which is something I rarely do, since most of my towels are dark and it made a little stain.  I mentioned it and felt bad that I made the dyer think something was wrong when it was my fault not hers.  The only other thing about this shawl is that it is smaller than I really like.  There were instructions for making it bigger and I have a bunch of yarn left over but I was trying to follow the instructions exactly.  I want to make it again bigger.

Ok on Saturday I did play WOW but I didn't make any large about of progress.  On Sunday I  listened to some podcasts.  Homespun split into A Homespun House and  A Night Bird.  I couldn't get Knitting Butterfly to work so I'll have to try again later.  I got invited to another podcast that I have heard of but I'm not going to listen to it until I finish Knitting in Circles.  Today is Kdrama day.  I have an episode of Let's Eat to watch then back to Running Man.

I already said that I started another shawl.  It's with my hand spun that has bamboo in it.  I finished the first stripy scarf and have enough yarn left over for a hat (or so I hope).  I found a pattern but it stats with a tubular cast on that I have never done and it seems fiddly so I'll see.  Since I finished a project I want to do at least one repeat on my daughter's socks.  I wrote up my husband's sweater as my dissertation and was approved so I want to spend at least an hour a day working on it.  I ran out of yellow so the ice cream pillows are on hold for now but I'll pick some up the next time I'm at Walmart.  Lastly (I think) I started another stripy scarf for before bed/ waiting room knitting.  Wow that's a lot.

I think that's it for today.  It's a long post so tomorrow's will probably be short.  Have a good day. :)

We went out and took our February 1st picture.  It mostly just looks like our January 1st picture.  I took this picture with my daughter's camera so that the pictures will be consistent.  I took some other ones with my camera.

Yesterday got away from me so I'll go back to Thursday.   I only played WOW a little but I did makes some progress.  My frost mage got to level 89 and my fire mage got to level 70. After that I got a call from the neighbor that I dive around and so I wasn't home anymore.  Yesterday I wasn't home much.  I'm going to try to make up some of my WOW time.

I bought some more orange so I finished the second scoop of my son's ice cream pillow. I'm going to run out of yellow now though.  Because I was in the car a lot I got quite a bit of work done on my stripy scarf.   I think it's almost done and I seem to have a bit left I wanted to maybe do a matching hat or some fingerless mitts. Since I didn't cast on my husband's sweater I might as well write it up as a dissertation. I also want to cast on a shawl so I can practice some things I learned.  Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately)  the needles I want are in the scarf.

Outside of the snow there isn't much going on here so I think that's it for today.
